Nanohana(菜の花) is a typical flower which blooms in spring.
"naonohana" is a season word of spring in haiku-poetry.
It is a generic name of flowers which belong to Brassicaceae family.
But usually it indicate rapeseed.
By the way, some species of the family bloom in winter.
The other day, I took the photo above in a field.
Those flowers makes me warm in a moment.

Sakaebashi (Sakae-bridge)
I have already post about some bridges in this city.
In this time, I show you sakaebashi-bridge which is over ebi-river.
There are figures on both side railing of the bridge.
Photo above is a figure which a girl hold up her palms for the sun.
It has a motif of Japanese song, "tenohira o taiyo ni".
Photo above is a figure of Andersen fairly tale.
Funabashi city is a sister city of Odense city.
Railing of the bridge is designed as musical note.

Cherry Blossoms in the Supermarket
Photo above is a school satchel counter in the supermarket.
We are in mid winter.
Those cherry blossoms are imitation.
In Japan, school year open in April.
Those school satchels are sold for children who enter elementary school in this year.
By the way, we call such school satchel "randoseru".

"Tanuki" means raccoon dog.
I took this photo in front of a liquor shop.
He wear straw hat and carry a container of liquor.
If you visit Japan, you often see him in front of some shops such as liquor shops and izakaya.

River in the Twilight
This is same place where I post yesterday.
I took these photos in late afternoon.
The river is ebigawa which flow in funabashi city.
Both side of the river are stroll road.
I often tkae a walk there, so it is a my favorite place in this city.
I like those lights along the river too.
So those lights are atmospheric for me.

Cherry Tree in Winter
I have already took photos here, summer amd fall.
And now,the tree is very simple.
This cherry tree is a typical kind of cherry trree "Somei Yoshino".
In spring, it blossomes with white petals ( slightly pinc ).
And after blossomes, fresh green leaves come out.

Coming-of-Age Day
Today is Coming-of-Age Day.
It is a national holiday.( the second monday of January )
Today, "coming-of age ceremony" is held in every city(or town).
It is a ceremony for the people who reached ( or will reach ) 20 years old during current school year.
I took photos above in front of the hall which the ceremony is held.
I think the ceremony is simple, some speeches and some attractions.
Almost ladies who attend to the ceremony wear Furisode.

Furisode discounted
Furisode is a long-sleeved kimono.
It is the most formal kimono for unmarried women on ceremonial occasions.
By the way, the second Monday of January is coming-of-age day (20 years old).
Many of girls who attend the ceremony, wear furisode.
But those girls have already got it in this time.
So, I think they have to discount the furisode.

Hagoita
Originally, Hagoita is rectangular wooden paddle for Hanetsuki that is a Japanese traditional game, similar to badminton.
Hagoita in this photo is a ornamental Hagoita.
It is also good-luck charm for girls.

This is the lighthouse in funabashi shrine.
It doesn't work now, but it is a symbol of funabashi city.
In three days of new year, we can enter to inside of the lighthouse.
