Jyugatsuzakura

I took these photos by Ebigawa(ebi-river) on last Wednesday.
Jyugatsuzakura is a cherry that blooms twice in a year.
It will bloom again in spring.

Nishikigi (winged spindle tree)

I took these photos in a neighboring woods today.
Nishikigi is a deciduous shrub.
Leaves of it have already started turning to red.
We can recognize the plant easily beacuse it has wings on it's branches.
I will show you the tree again when colour of those leaves change to beautiful red.

Golden Yellow

I took this photo in my town yesterday.
Here in funabashi, leaves of ginkgo become yellow in late fall.
When those leaves look golden yellow, winter is approaching here.

Funabashi Shrine in Fall




I took these photos in funabashi shrine today.
Funabashi shrine is a shinto shrine located in central funabashi.
In this time, those yellow and red leaves make the shrine very colourfull.

Japanese Photinia in Autumn

I took this photo today.
These small trees are Japanese Photinia.
It is popular as hedge.
Those red ( not green ) leaves are fresh leaves.
( Colour of the leaf turns to green from red )
Usually, fresh leaves of the tree come out in spring.
But, if they prune it in summer, fresh red leaves come out again in fall.
And it makes beautiful contrast of green and red.

Green Tree in the Shrine


This old tree stands in the precincts of funabashi daijingu (funabashi shrine).
Trunk of the tree is covered with moss.
When I visited the shrine, around the tree is very calm.
The tree looks more beautiful in the silence.

A Japanese Zelkova Tree

I took these photos in funabashi daijingu shrine.
This tree was damaged by cannonball in the battle of boshin war(1868-1869).
But it has been still alive.

Ume Blossoms along the Road

Yesterday, when I walked on the road, I found those ume (Japanese apricot) blossoms.
They planted those ume trees just like a fence of the field.
By the way, It have been warm in the last few days as Februarly.

Nanohana flower and Ume blossom
It is a same place where I took a photo which I post yesterday.
Both Nanohana flower and ume blossom are symbol of spring in Japan.
When I see this view, I know the season is turning.

Ume blossoms are starting to bloom

I found this ume tree in a park yesterday.
Ume (Prunus mume) is known as "Ume","Japanese apricot" or "chinese plum" in English.
It is one of typical blossom in spring in Japan.
Ume blooms earlier than cherry blossom.
North wind blows and it is is still cold.
But the blossoms tell me the spring is approaching to here in funabashi.

Persimmon tree in early winter
Today, It is fine.
I took a long walk, and I found this persimmon tree.
Almost persimmons are not remain on the branch, dropped to the ground,or picked off.
And some were eaten by crow.
Time is running so fast.
We will be in mid winter soon.

Japanese Maple

We call Japanese maple Momiji or Kaede.
We have many species of maple.
This is a Iroha-momiji (Acer palmautm), typical Japanese maple.
I t has small leaf just like a palm of baby.
The leaves have changed to red here in funabashi.

Ginkgo

The leaf of ginkgo changes to yellow in fall.
And it drops to ground.

I took this photo on the stroll road along ebi-river at north side of central funabashi.
it is one of my favorite place in this city, I often take photos there.
In the past of few days, it becomes cold suddenly.
I realize winter is approaching to here.

Stroll road along Ebigawa at central funabashi
Ebigawa (ebi-river) is a narrow river flows in Funabashi city.
Both side of the river are stroll road.
It is a my favorite walking course.
In spring, the cherry blossoms along the river are beautiful.
