I found this ume tree in a park yesterday.
Ume (Prunus mume) is known as "Ume","Japanese apricot" or "chinese plum" in English.
It is one of typical blossom in spring in Japan.
Ume blooms earlier than cherry blossom.
North wind blows and it is is still cold.
But the blossoms tell me the spring is approaching to here in funabashi.

Nobu, once this tree visited my morning dreams. It sprouted through my bedroom ceiling, and apricot gold parakeets were on it's branches, the blooms were apricot, golden , too, and the birds were singing, and it was one of, if not the most beautiful dream I have ever had, so peaceful.
It was maybe last spring, I am not sure of the time, but I have a note of it somewhere..
Oh, I could use this dream every day.
Thank you for this photo.
I can't wait! I love ume and sakura, im always waiting at that time that they bloom!
The firstt Cherry Blossom is so sweet
It's so lovely. But, is it a plum or an apricot?!?
PS/ funny thing, the verification word I have to type is " HYPLUM"!
I'm always fascinated when the Japanese plum starts to bloom. It makes the world seem more peaceful and serene. Do you have any pictures of pink ume blossoms? Would love to take a look.
