Ducks on the Pond

I took these photos in Otakifudoson a week ago.
Otakifudoson is a buddist temple located at Kanasugi, Funabashi.
On that day, this pond was very calm.

Pond in Otakifudoson

I took these photos last friday.
Otakifudoson is a buddist temple located in Kanasugi, Funabashi.
When I visited there, the pond is surounded by beautiful autumn leaves.

Yellow Leaves

You may remember this place.
I post this place as " A Small Shinto Shrine" on this blog last month.
I went to there again last monday and took these photos.
On that day, the ground was coverd with yellow leaves.

A Small Playground In Late Fall

I remember that cherry tree with full of white blossoms in spring.

I took this photo today.
This scene will be changed dramaticaly with yellow leaves in end of fall.

September Concert at Funabashi

I took this photo on the pedestrian deck that is in front of funabashi station last Sunday.
This event was held for wish to peace.

Stage of the Summer Festival

I took these photos last sunday.
It is a summer festival in my town.
They beat Taiko drum on the high wooden stage.

This sign stands by Ebi-river.
The sign says "Keep the river cleen".

Scarecrow

I took these photos today.
Those scarecrows stand in a rice field by Ebi-river.

Woods in a Hot Day

I often go to the woods to stroll.
And I can stay there long time, because I can talk to trees.

This summer, it is very hot.
It is a nice place to cool down.

Castoff Cicada Shell

Today, I found a castoff cicada shell in the precincts of a shinto shrine.
I think it is a shell of a large brown cicada.

Takashobashi in a Sunny Day

Takashobashi ( Takasho-bridge) is a bridge over Ebi-gawa (Ebi-river).
"Takasho, (鷹匠)" means falconer.


You can see a pegion on the model of goshawk.

Paper Lanterns in the Town

"Minato-cho Yatsurugi-shrine Festival" is a traditional summer festival.
( If you have not read my previous post yet, please check it from here )
During the festival, paper lanterns are set at entrance of each houses in the town.

Mikoshi Parade in the Old Fisherman Town

In the Edo era, sea in front of funabashi was one of the fishery place that gave fishes to Togugawa Shogun.
In the rapid economy growth of nation after the world war 2, a lot of fishermen at funabashi got off their fishing boat.
But fishermen who remain still inherit their traditional fishery in the old fisherman town.

"Minato-cho Yatsurugi-shrine festiaval" is a summer festival of the fisherman town.
In the festival, they carry Mikoshi (miniature shrine) in the town.




And they stop sometimes and push the Mikoshi in the swing, and carry it again.
That Mikoshi is covered with white clothes to protect decorations to the swing.

Park in Sunny Day

I took this photo at central funabashi last saturday.
Rainy season has already gone.

Tairyo-bata ( Big Catch Flag )

Bay area of funabashi prospered as fisherman town.
And funabashi fishing port still works in deep inside of Tokyo bay.
"Tairyo-bata , 大漁旗" literally means big catch ( fish ) flag.
Today, festival of Yatsurugi shrine started.
Towns near the fishing port join the festival.
Many of those flags were set along river side and on bridges.

Under Green Leaves

I took this photo on the jogging road (walking road) by ebi-gawa (ebi-river) yesterday.
We are still in rainy season, but it was fine yesterday.
You can see boys with baseball uniform running on the road in this photo.

Hydrangea in the Morning Rain

It was rain in this morning.
When I saw the beauty in the rain, I knew rainy season had come here in funabashi.

In the Gentle Bleeze

It is getting hot here in funabashi.
But it is still cool in early morning.
I like watching leaves of bamboo grass waving in gentle breeze.

Azalea in Jun

Season of the flower is about to end.
So it looks more beautiful for me.

Fishing Boat

I took this photo at funabashi fishing port today.
Though funabashi city is a outer suburbs of Tokyo, we can see many fishing boats at the fishing port.
