Town around the Fishing Port

Around the fishing port, I feel time passing so slowly.

Park by the Port

I like the views from funabashi shinsui park.
That park is located by funabashi fishing port.
I often visit to the park to take picture, and to refresh my mind.

Fishing Boat

I took this photo at funabashi fishing port today.
Though funabashi city is a outer suburbs of Tokyo, we can see many fishing boats at the fishing port.

Row of Gulls

Funabashi city is faced to Tokyo bay.
I took this photo on a park along the water course to Tokyo bay.
You can see water gate over there.

Inari shrine by the old residence

This small Inari shrine stands by an old residence called " Kioukaku".

In the left side of the photo above, you can see the small Inari shrine.

Sea Gull and the Park

The park is located along the water way to Tokyo bay.
I like watching birds from the park.

Cormorants under the Highway

I took this photo by the mouth of ebi-river.
I often see cormarants stay under the highway.
I think they had already finished dinner on that time.

Fishing Port in Twilight

This is Funabashi fishing port .
I took this photo from the park along the waterway.
I like this place. I can relax if I see the port or waterway to the bay.
In the center of this pfoto you can see a small boat in the twilight.

Fishing shop

This fishing shop is along the rout 14.
It is near to bay area.

Photo above is a fish bait vending machine.
It is set by the fishing shop.

In the photo above, you can see nets for catching clam.
Thoes are sold by the fishing shop.
Thoes nets are very small compered with the net which fishermen use.

Lalaport Tokyo-bay

Lalaport Tokyo-bay is large shopping mall housing 540 specialty shops.
It is located in the bay area of funabashi-city.
It has large parking.
You can also go there by free bus from some train stations.


It has also various amusement facilities such as movie theater.
And various events are held.


This small train is popular among little children.


I think this shopping mall is good for families who has little children.
Because They can enjoy without shopping.

Kioukaku

This old residence is located bay area of funabashi city.
It is on the premises of a hotel.
It was builded in 1910 on other place.
After transported to there.
It is called "Kioukaku".

Funabashi Shinsui Park

This park is along the water way to Tokyo bay.
It is close to large shopping center "lalaport funabashi".
It is good to rest in the park after shopping.

That boat is going back to the fishing port.

I took this photo from the edge of the park.
Tokyo bay is over there.

Funabashi fishing port

Funabashi fishing port is only one fishing port which work full-scale in the deep inside of Tokyo bay.

Long ago Southern part of funabashi prospered as fishermen's town.
But lot of fishermen got off their fishing boat for the development of the bay, in the rapid economy groth of nation after world war 2.

Fishermen remained are still taking fish and clam, and caluture raising Nori(sea weeds).
Especialy "Funabashi-Nori" has execllent quallity.
Because it is caluture raised by the traditional technique in the precious shallow remained in tokyo bay.


Funabashi fishing port is close to large shopping centers, bay side hotels, and two high ways.


Those fishing boats are go to waterway to the bay through the water gate.


In the photo above you can ses nets with long wooden bar.
Thoes are net for catch clam( short-neck clam).

Next time, I will introduce you out side of water gate.

Fishing boat on the river

It takes around 15 minute there from funabashi railroad station.
The senery might be suprizing for the people who think funabashi city as bed town of Tokyo.

I think that is a boat which catch clam(small-neck clam).
Maybe, the owner lives by the river.

You can see high way over the boat.
It is close to bay side hotels and large shopping center.
It is near mouth of the river.


Those banners standing along the river are banner of fisherman.
When I see it, I feel the pride of the fisherman who inherit traditional style of fishery in the deep inside of Tokyo bay.
