Usually Izakaya are in central of the town.
But sometime, I see such a Izakaya at road side far from central of the town.

So what do people normally drink in a Japanese pub? Is it the same as an Australian pub?

Hello Kris.
One of local custum in Izakaya is that, If we go to there, usually a small dish is served, before we order something.
but it is not free. We must pay for it. (don't worry it's cheap)

There are various type of Izakaya.
I will post about some Izakaya some day. stay tune!

What a stylish pub! I love the paper lanterns hanging in the front of Izakaya. I believe they serve sake in there.

Welcome to my blog. And thanks for your comment.
Yes, they serve Sake.
Lanterns and ropes in front of the entrance are symbole of such a traditional pub.

We have a restaurant named Izakaya in Launceston. I haven't been there personally, but it appears to be a restaurant as opposed to a pub.

I,ve found that restaurant in internet.
The scenery in the photo of "Izakaya in Launceston" looks like Traditional Izakaya in Japan.

In Japan Izakaya searve Sake, Beer and so on. and it open evening. so it is for adult.

I suppose they run japanese restaurant which searve Izakaya dishes.
