Bicycle Parking in Spring

There are many bicycle parking around funabashi railway station.
I took this photo in front of the station yesterday.
I like those young leaves in spring.

Coin parking lot

The number of such parking lot has increased in Japan.
It is because illegal parking manegiment becomes severe because of the revision of the road traffic law.
But other cause seems to exist.
According to article of the Nikkei news paper, the use of the rent car has increased.
Because Japanese companys have decresed the number of possession of the car.
therefore the demand for the parking lot of the time charge has increeaed.

Bicycle parking close to the Funabashi station

Going to the railroad station by the car to get on the train, is not general in Japan.
In Japan, most railroad station is located central of the town, especialy in urban.
So driving parking close to the railroad station is limitted and expencive.
Many of people go to the the railroad station by walking , taking the bus, or riding bicycle.
