Hina gashi in a supermarket

Hina gashi means sweets for girl's day( March 3 ).
You can see those sweets which has three colour, pink , white, and green in the photo above.
Pink indicate peach blossom.
White indicate snow.
And green indicate fresh leaf.

I took this photo in a supermarket.

Hanging Daikon Radish

Those are hanging daikon radishes(Japanese radish).
They dry daikon radish under the sun before pickle them.
This is a scenery of winter.
By the way, I have often seen daikon radish hanging in farmer's garden, but I have seen it in road side first time.

Tachigui Soba

This is a Soba shop. (Soba is Japanese noodle)
But it is not a traditional soba shop.
We call such a Soba shop "Tachigui soba".
"Tachigui" means eat something standing.
Usually It is in railway station , and near railway station.


Usually we buy a ticket in vending machine in the shop. and give it over the counter.
Soon we get Soba dish. Because Soba is already boiled in such shop.

Soba in photo above is 320yen. ( around 3 US$ )


In these days, there are usually stools in "Tachigui soba shop".
So we can sit and eat. But we still call it "Tachigui soba".
Such soba shop is popular among the people who want to have quick bite, especially business man who don't have enough time to take a lunch.
But I think it is not popular among women.
I rarelly see a young girle in "Tachigui soba" shop.

Yoshinoya

This is a Yoshinoya in central funabashi.
Yoshinoya is a pioneer of gyudon(beef bowl)restaurant chain.
And it is also a pioneer of fast food restaurant chain in Japan.
The catch phrase of Yoshinoya is "cheap, yummy, quick".

Gyudon is a bowl rice topped with thinly sliced beef and onion,simmerd in mildly sweet flavored soy sauce based broth.
