Persimmon is called "Kaki" in Japan, and it is a season word of fall in haiku-poetry.
When I walk around my town in this season, I often see ripen persimmon on tree in garden of farmers.
It is a typical scenery we have a feeling of fall.

These are one of my favorite fruits! It tastes like fall to me. Here we call them 'fuyu persimmons'. They are crunchy and sweet, with almost a cinnamon flavor. I have a line of them on my kitchen counter right now!

We call them Kaki too!!! I love them, and I love seing them on trees: it's such a colourful fruit that surely stands out in the autumn colours. Beautiful photo. I am going to buy some kakis now!

Valeria came first! I wanted to say that here in Italy we call kaki (or cachi?) as well. So I can add that they are too sweet and slimy to me.
I just ate a ripe persimmon the other day--pure heaven!
