A blog of Japan. You can see Japanese daily life and scenery through my camera. All photos are taken in Funabashi city and surround.
I took this photo in Funabashi fishing port. You can see a net on the boat in this photo.Fishermen go to shallow by small boat, and catch clams (short-neck clam) with such a net.I think it is a hard work to operate that heavy net alone.
You're right — the pole of the net looks heavy and could be very awkward alone. Not an easy life.
Very interesting for me, because my grandfather was a fisherman. I like to discover other ways of fishing. The boat has a very strange shape for me. A thing is sure: Fishermen had and have a hard life everywhere in the world!
Must be difficult indeed! Beautiful photo - I like boats and ships of all kind:)
Yes I agree with you dear Nobu! A hard work to do alone in this boat!Great picture!Léia ;-)
Their clams are different to catch than our clams I think. When we catch clams we have to use a shovel to dig on the beach in low tide. It would be very hard to handle that net alone, I agree.
