Kobushi (Kobushi magnolia)

kobushi
kobushi
Today, it was fine and warm.
I went to a woods near my house, and took these photos.
Kobushi is a tree which bloom in early spring.
So it is a word of spring in haiku poetry.
Those trees in the first photo are very tall.
"kobushi" literally means fist in English.
Because the fruit of the tree looks like a fist.

Drawing up its fists in the naked sky
nature is demonstrating against winter
"We want sun" seem to shout the kobushi.

Then comes the spring..
