Who moved my butter?

there is no butter in the supermarket I have never seen butter in the supermarket for a few month.
On the counter of in this photo, they put margaline insted of butter.
why?
The consumption of milk in Japan was in the decreces tendency at last several years.
So the dairy farmers started decrease in out put milk.
But price of dairy product have been rising in worl wide.
And butter for supermarket has been short since last fall.
I think It takes times to return butter there.

That's intersting Nobu. I wonder why the Japanese people reduce their consumption of dairy products. Are they afraid of getting fat?

Btw, the picture is very colorful. I like the color composition.

Hello sherry, thanks for your kind word.

Hello eki, I think it is right what you said.

Butter is just fine in small quantities. Like everything you eat, you just want to use it in moderation. I read somewhere that margarine is one molecule away from being plastic. If that is true, I am definitely sticking with butter!

I can tell you why butter is expensive. (And it's not bad for you - it is a natural product unlike margarine!)
Cows are fed with corn. Corn is being used to make alternative fuels, so much of the corn is going to fuel instead of feed. Less corn means it is more expensive to feed the cows.
This is because the "environmentalists" are pushing the government to make alternative fuel.
